John 1 and John 1

Good Morning Friends!

Read 1 John 1:1-5 and compare it to John 1:1-5

Both passages begin almost identically. Both point back to a time in the past, using "the beginning," an apparent reference to Genesis 1:1, the Creation. Both distinguish between God the Father and the Word, and both place them next to each other in close connection. Both sections also use the image of "life" and "light." No question, there's much in common between the two sections.

Taken together, both sections reveal truths about Jesus that are central to the plan of salvation.

Think about all you know about the life of Jesus. What were the things He did, said, and suffered? Also, ask yourself, Why did He do these things? As you do so, dwell on the fact that this Man was also God, the Creator. What hope and encouragement do these truths offer you? How can they help you cope with the stresses and strains of life?

Good post and Jesus loved us so much that He came and lived, died and lived again so that we might be saved! The scriptues tell us there is only one God....the almighty Jehovah and that in the beginning He was, is and will always be and that He came in the flesh as a man and gave His life for all sinners in the name of Jesus, our blessed Lord and Savior! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for loving us so that You made a way for us to receive salvation without having to work for or earn it! But after we become saved we show our faith and love by serving faithfully to save other souls for the Kingdom of God, so they'll live eternally, also! Amen! God Bless! Betty

Thanks I never picked up an that before.
John 1 ALWAYS takes me to Rev. 19:11-16. I think its because of a bible study I did a few years ago. I cross referenced to find other occurrences of Christ being called GOD. OR... GOD wants me to make that connection!

Isn't the Bible The Living Word of GOD? Think about it
Jeff

Jesus is the Living Word of God and He is the Word made flesh (The Bible), Who was with God in the beginning, for He is God born as man...for Jesus was both man and God, but He suffered in the flesh more so than any other person born on this earth! The only difference is that being perfect by being born without sin through His virgin birth, He could take all our sins upon Himself and did as He paid the price in full for all our sins! He is a merciful and gracious God; therefore, is worthy of all our praise and glory to His Holy name, Jesus! Amen! God Bless! Betty
