John 'n' W.Va is right, a ring is a ring....here's one!

Yep he's right:detecting: is the ring broken or just bent out'a shape ? either way WTG as silver is silver.

GaryL .... :detecting:

It's got a clean break in it and a section of it will break off if I mess with it anymore. I thought about trying to rebend and solder it back into shape.

Actually it was Rosco Bookbinder who coined the phrase a ring is a ring is a ring. With that said, I invested in a cheap mandrel and leather hammer bought on Ebay (around $20 to $25). Rings like yours or flattened / out of round rings get rounded out great with those tools. It also does it right so not to cause damage. I would suggest anyone in the sport invest in one. And remember, Christmas is coming so you could put it on your list.

Thanks for the recognition there bro. Not sure I'm the one that started that phrase though but at any rate, yes a mandrel and leather hammer have fixed a number of the rings I have found. One was totally flat. Got it open just enough to get on the mandrel and it now looks like new. They are a good investment for sure.........
