JSPI: using transmitter as discriminator

Hi Eric,
I've been looking at wrong end of this horse. Alot more excitement at turn on rather than turn off.
Thanks so much for the information.

JC:
The main improvements we have made over the last 3 years is offer a much larger range of coils, - each has a operating window that is optimised for a certain size of gold and certain ground conditions. The advent of the larger 'dd' coils has pulled out a heap of gold in some areas which have deep ground and extremely noisy mineralisation, ie. central Victoria, - especially Dunolly type areas. I think that coil ways we have come far, I would like to see more user adjustability in the control box, - and mods to increase the Transmitter would be a good thing. John

"mods to increase the transmitter".
How come nobody ever asks for a mod to decrease the transmitter?
How come nobody ever asks for a mod to increase battery weight up to, say truck battery size?
How come nobody ever asks for a mod to make the machine noiser on dirt and more susceptible to drift?
Jest havin' fun wid youse.
Reminds me of volume controls.
When doing market research, you ask prospective customers, "Would you like to have a volume control on the machine?" Guess what? The answer is usually "yes".
Then, you think to ask, "Why is a volume control a good thing to have?" the customer replies, "So you can turn the volume up louder."
Fact of life: volume controls don't turn anything up louder. All they do is turn stuff down quieter.
Now, about "sensitivity controls"...... y'all been there, done that, right?
Have a good day.

Morning Dave:
You would be suprised at the improvments in the gold fields we have made with running the SDs at a constant 7.5 Volts instead of 6.6 - 6.0 Volts battery drain. Very small improvments here in Australia bring out a heap of gold just out of the detection range. Id like to give a Sd a go with twich the grunt, - I have a few places in mind right now! Love your input Dave - if you ever need any prototype coils made drop me a line.

Dave:
I was searching the net yesteday and found the batteries you need. 3.6 Volt 35aH Rechargeable Lithium Ion batterys, only 800 grams each, - only problem they are made for the Mars Lander.
