Jumping Jefferson's

treasure sstate

Or any other nickel. Nickels that are 3" and deeper the numbers for the most part will jump around. I hunt mostly in TTF so the numbers are the final say in whether I dig the signal or not. Yesterday I got a hit with the numbers on the 1st pass reading 8-11, next pass was 10-12. Turning 90 degrees I got a 8-16, 7-13 and 12-17. The target was at 6 inches and in the past these numbers could mean a nickel so dug a plug and retrieved a 1952 Jefferson nickel. Shallow nickels from surface to about 3 " almost always read 12-13 and sometimes 12-14 at least in my soil. Also folded over beaver tails will give the same numbers and I have a good collection of those also.

Good info!
Thanks,
Bunker
