Jumpy signals

Coinseeker 78

New member
I find in a lot of cases My VDI's jump around quite a bit and don't lock on very often in trashy areas. My 5 inch coil settles it down somewhat. But I like to use my 11 inch coil in BP mode for the depth. Is there a way to settle these jumpy signals down so you know whether to dig or not? Thanks in advance.

Coins will have a much more consistent ID than junk.

bP mode it is great for deep signals but I think it makes the coil a bit over sensitized on mid to shallow depth targets. If you press and hold in the button while sweeping over the target it takes it out of bP mode and temporarily puts it in dP mode. I have found that this calms it down a bit

Probably it's multiple targets and/or junk. Try a much shorter swing or change sweep speed and you should be able to start picking them out individually. The no-motion mode should also separate signals well.

I agree with Ed
The Tek line has a very fast recovery time slow down and you can pick alot of targets. I allway use a small coil in town.
