June Finds so far...

The first hunt pics were at a local elementary school that has produced silver coins in the past. Nothing too major here, but I have plenty of solder if anyone needs it! :)

The 2nd hunt was at the "summer" church, for my church. I've had a lot of luck at our main building. This one is down the road aways and dates back a fair amount, and is near the town green. However, the front yard is almost not there so most of my finds were from the side, near the edge of the property. I'll have to go back and try a few more areas with a smaller coil. I was getting really crazy static with my 12X15 on near the edge of the property. Either an underground power line or an electric dog fence. There has got to be some old coins around somewhere.

This was the 2nd hunt of the day for me. I tried a school I hadn't hit before and was told that it was new and probably wouldn't be worth hitting. Well, I was surprised when every signal I dug, I would not recover what I expected. Every memorial cent I thought I Was going to dig turned out to be an old spoon, or pocket watch part, or some old copper item. I was starting to get excited when I started digging wheaties. By the time I dug the silver quarter, it was pretty much pitch black, it was reading 00 Ferrous 29 Conductive. As usual you always find the silver the last dig of the day, when it's pitch black and you're rushing. I also pinpointed it like garbage so I did my best imitation of a mole and dug a hole out the side of my plug trying to find the target. When I plucked it out, it was black and cruddy and I mistook it for a clad quarter. I was disappointed and dismayed because the signal was reading silver. It wasn't until I got home and started cleaning the finds that I learned I had found silver. Unfortunately, due to the bad conditions I was digging in, I gouged it pretty badly. Ahh well, I will be back to that school soon!

Ok, now I'm pretty much caught up with all the hunting I've been doing the last 3 months, hope you enjoyed the slide show.

Those ole Matchbox Cars are always fun to find, along with the ole Spoons and such. Congrats on getting that Silver Quarter. Makes it all worth while when you see Silver. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:

thanks, it was fun and a surprise! (I'm also glad I caught up posting my finds!)
