Just a Jefferson Nickel - but very special to me.......

if any of you ever collected coins as a youngster like me, or even still collect coins today --- you probably know how difficult it was to locate a 1950-D Jefferson Nickel!!! Of all the rolls of nickels I searched years ago --- not once did I find a 1950-D nickel. It had a low mintage for a Jefferson Nickel and was mostly hoarded at the time and prices for the 50-D were out of site at the time..............about the only way you could get one was to buy it from a dealer!!!

That's why when I dug this Jefferson Nickel last week and saw that it was a 1950-D, it will go into a holder as to the only 50-D I ever got that I didn't have to pay for it!!!

Nice key date Nickel--congratulations! There certainly were not many key dates for Jeffersons. I'm glad you finally got that special coin for your collection.:clapping: Thanks for posting.
