Just a question on depth....

Hereis a question on depth but first let me make a few statments and then i'll pose the question.....
a concentric coil has a responsive area beneath it like and ice cream cone.
The further from the coil/or deeper the area it sees is smaller.
At its deepest point from the coil it might be as small as a dime.
So to cover an area of 12" You might have to overlap your wings moving an 1/8 of and inch at a time if you wish to get every target at it's deepest point.
And do so at the optimum sweep speed. Too fast and you'll not get a good response and too slow the same.
My qestion is this ....
Is what I am saying True ?
I am only talking about targets at the coils deepest point.
Not discussing masking or ground balance issueshere...

sounds right but 1/8" overlaps do not appeal to me lol
