I have been running the wheels round and round going to VA (Veterans Administration) clinics and hospitals. Have had my eyes checked both in Saginaw and then later down to Ann Arbor. Have been told that not only do I have glaucoma (which the VA has given me medicine for - thank you God!) but also both eyes are getting cataracts as well. (Been using a magnifying glass a LOT lately to read).
Was checked for prostate cancer. Well, that is still out for an answer. It is enlarged and the PSA (?) count is high. Going to Saginaw again today to see the urologist so will get more info then.
With all the other things gong on...may not have time to go into it all...I am seeing a mental health person with the VA as well. Seems to be helping....I am not yelling at the dogs and birds as I was before.
Sherry is still no where knowing what is going on with her insides. She is to see a surgeon next month to see about getting a biopsy done of her stomach to see what is going on. Her swelling and increased pain has only gotten worse - not better. Sister in law wants to take her to Mayo or Cleveland Clinic. Sherry worries about bills and finances both now and this winter...when I may not have a job or even if I am still working part time it would not be enough income. Keep telling her God will meet our needs.
Leelan is scheduled to get tubes in one or both ears next month. Will be taking Casey and Leelan to Saginaw for that since she doesn't know that town - I was born and raised there. Casey is officially divorced now and dating someone. I think her plans for moving out to a Section 8 apartment has been shot down. So she will be staying here longer....and we sure miss Leelan when he is not here.
Speaking of Leelan, time to get him up, dressed and fed before going to day care. Sherry has work this morning so have to get her up as well to help get Leelan going and to start her work day. As mentioned, later I will be driving to Saginaw again.
There is a blessing in these long drives....the VA pays me mileage. The trip to Saginaw gives me $70 each trip, the trips to Clare about $30 and the trip to Ann Arbor $140. My van doesn't use THAT much gas so the extra comes in handy for bills.
