Just bought an Ace 250..

I had my eye on this whites machine at the pawn shop but not being able to drop the money on it I put it off. Went in Friday to check on it and see if it was still there. thought, its pay day, they only want $200 for the whites, I will offer then $100.. worst they can say is no.. Instead.. they sold it. only thing they had was this Ace 250.. I've heard, and seen, great things about it. I was recommended to get one as I climb the ladder of detectors. Eventually I would like a minelab etrac or exterra.. So back to the ace.. The lady brings it out, says I have this one for $129.00.. I knew what it was and knew that even at 129 that that was a good price. I looked it over and it looks like its hardly used! So calmly I said.. How about a $100? She didnt hesitate and said that would be fine.. .. now I knew a good deal just got better!! oh but wait theres one more thing that makes it even better.. So I get some fresh batteries and head out to a field, before I go on, I only had about 20 minutes to goof around and there is no instruction book, so I goof around trying this and trying that, dropped some coins on the ground and played around. Times up had to go. I called a friend of mine who has been detecting longer than I have been alive. Yesterday I took it over to his house and tried it on his coin garden. With the sensitivity up at about 6 it picked up a silver dime at 8 inches like it was sitting right on the surface! It worked better than his tesoro! He was really impressed and a little jealous!! Ok, for the better part.. I whipped out my smart phone and looked on ebay at other Ace 250's.. just to get a feel for what they are going for. Basically I could sell this and make another hundred bucks! And I discovered that someone replaced the original coil with a double D coil!!!



Killer deal or what??


And of course the weather has changed for the worse.. system after system, rain rain more rain.. for the next week or so.. its like getting a new bike for christmas then it snows

I should add that I have watched a few more videos on you tube and will be downloading a manual for it.. honestly, it looks like a machine that you just need to use to get used to it.. seems pretty straight forward.

I love my Ace 250 and use it more than my other machines
I have found bunches of good stuff regularly with mine and it easily holds it own compared to more expensive machines
Just yesterday found 3 wheats at 8 inches with a nail in same hole
Swing that sucker and dig everything that goes bong when swung at all directions

I'm not sure how far past posts are archived, but there are loads of posts made about the 250,
going back over 5+ years. But I don't know if they get flushed every once in a while or not.
I've had mine over 5 years now I think, and I still like it enough to not have bothered upgrading.
But I do have three coils for it, which helps make it more versatile.
The small sniper coil is kick butt on a 250 if you hunt tight areas. But I also use the 6x9 stock
coil, and the 9x12 about equally as much. Just depends what I'm doing..
It's got a few quirks, and pinpointing can take some practice, but for the money it's pretty capable.
The pinpointing can be quite accurate once you get the hang of it..
It's not as deep as the high dollar machines, but that's one reason I have the 9x12. It gives me a
couple of extra inches if I'm prowling for deep stuff vs the stock 6x9 coil.

PS.. Just looked at the post, and how long I've been here.. I've had mine six years now, and
still no problems.. Time flies.. I joined this forum at the same time I bought the 250.
