I can't get it up here, but watched a preamble to the series. Last years episodes were discontinued.......are they any different this year?

If you like watching a couple of clueless idiots jumping around and doing backflips over the amazing treasure (ie roundness,civ,nectar,colone,tokes,ect.ect.ect.) :ranting: that they find then have at it. Oh yeah lets not forget how valuable everything they find is. LOL  Myself I dont like idiots like that representing my hobby. Its hard enough finding places to hunt as it is. Because of all these shows every person looks at you like you are a whackjob that's gonna use a backhoe or dynamite to dig holes in their yard. Hey look at this rusty old horseshoe. Must be worth at least $800.00......I just want to be left alone while hunting. Thats my time for relaxation. I dont need the attention but hey thats just me.

I have never met anyone that acts like they do or talks that way in all the yrs. that I've been metal detecting. I'm guessing this is what the producers of the show wants because I cannot believe two grown men would act so foolishly. Dumb show; not worth watching.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum, I like it. Don't get me wrong you can totally see how the producers coach them into doing stupid things in order to "try" and make it exciting - LAME! However, I like that they tend to have a mission in their episodes "Try and verify a battle took place here" it can still be subjective with regard to their conclusion but they are showing how metal detecting can paint a picture, to me that's cool. As much as I hate it . . . I joke around and say things like "Juice in the hole" hahahaha again I think the producers probably put them up to creating a lingo.

I find it difficult to believe that Garrett would even allow them to use their detectors let alone sponsor them. I guess its all about the money. Personally I do not appreciate them giving our hobby such a bad name. I was turned down to detect a one acre lot in town where the lady of the house invited me to come detect but her husband had seen the show on tv and he stated that no one that acted like that would be allowed on his property. I could not convince him that I and 99.9% of the folks that detected did not act that way. The lot supposedly was a place where Confederate soldiers had camped during the "recent unpleasantness".

I do not have cable but my friends that know i metal detect have to tell me about it.So i really think the show is bringing awareness to the hobby.Which this could be good for the industry.People that have seen the show have more of an idea about detecting.More detectors that sell the faster the industry will grow. That means continued growth and advancements in the production of metal detectors. And that equates to more technological advancements in the metal detectors. o_O
