Slipped out for a short hunt after work, grabbed the Equinox with the 6" still on . I was working the debris field [heavy iron} on an 1875 cabin and the 3rd target id'd at 16, deep but a repeatable. At a depth of 4 to 6 inches out came this rough example of a half reale. Minted from 1734 to 1771 it predates Missouri becoming a state almost a hundred years and is quite a bit older than my 8 reale minted in the 1790's. The M over O is the Mint mark for Mexico city and the 17 is all that is left of the date after a good hole punch. I inserted a picture of a better example for reference proposes only
