I haven't posted or even been online in a while. This summer has been flying by and I haven't been able to get out much in the last month or two. My father was in bad car accident and I took some time to go see him. The good news is that my father is going to be alright so I thought I would celebrate by digging my oldest U.S. coin ever....an 1852 Seated Dime!!!! Heck Ya. I was so pumped to see it come out of the ground.
It didn't have the silver song that I long to hear, but actually read more like a standard 1980 penny but heck I was in area that has produced some goodies for me in the past so of course I dug it. My heart dropped. I beat my record by one year - my previous was an 1853 Seated Half.
Earlier that day that I went hunting with Crispytoo at a local park were we both have hunted many times in the past and it has produced some nice finds over the years but they are have become farther and few between. I dug a neat 1919 Mexican silver 10 Cent piece right ontop of trash and and 1916 Canadian One Cent in the same hole as a huge iron nail. I was feeling pretting in tuned with the Exploder and it felt good to have her back in my hand again.
The day before I was able to get out for about 2 hours and picked up a couple cool things and a 1907 Barber Dime. 1933 Chicago's World Fair pendant, Shell's President Game Token, and a .25 Cent Trade Token.
Not a bad comeback!
