I had the opportunity to try out a T2 and an F75 last summer and it's been haunting me ever since.
So now I own one. Been doing some reading here on the T2 forum and putting everything together that I've experienced and read.
I feel very confident in using the T2 with only one question that keeps bothering me.
Quality of the product. When you look at the T2 or F75, one wonders how they would hold up in the field.
Maybe some of you could put this little question to bed for me.

Bob, the T2 is an excellent machine. I have had one for awhile now, and it is a hard choice what to take to the field sometimes to hunt with!! I like the balance of it and the raw depth in relic hunting. It will hold up rather well. I have taken mine in the bush and scrubbed rocks with it and it is one tough machine!! The last weekend I was out with it, I was hunting one of my fav worked out camps. I found a Eagle "C" Coat button at 10 inches with it. I had used many other machines in that field before and it is full of iron, nails, horseshoes, you name it it's there. I had a Te*** in there one time and I just could not use it because of the Iron. I had a F75 not too long after they were released and I just could not stand the chatter of it. Just go easy on the sensitivity on the T2 and keep it around 70-75 to start with. Get use to the sounds and dig everything that even squeeks a high tone to begin with. I hunt in all metal thou, and just look at the TID, if it is 16 up I dig it. Keep in mind that I relic hunt mostly with mine. Have patience with it and learn what is telling you........Mark

Thanx Mark,
One more thing please. Have you had any trouble with moisture? Or have any of the guys had a moisture problem?
Reason is, now there is a recall to replace or install a new gasket to help with a light rain. $50 plus shipping. If it's not a problem, I'll pass on the extra $$

Bob, I have not had any issues with moisture, but I don't hunt in the rain either. I use a ziplock sandwich bag to cover my display just to help keep the dirt off.
The stock cover is a Pain to use and to me restricts my view of the display. I won't send mine in right now, not worth the $$ IMHO. Mark

There is no recall on the T-2, to fix any moisture problem.

If you have a problem with moisture, by all means send it in for repairs. If your the original owner, I'm sure it's under warranty.

They decided to offer a version of the environmental sealing they did to the Fisher F-75. It's not quite the same, but it's close. The case assembly's need to be replaced with new, different designed ones to accomplish the sealing. They only offered the sealing as an option for those that want to have it done, like I said it's Not a Recall.

I got an email about what you just told me. I was wondering if it was an ongoing problem or what. I was aware of it being an up grade, but still wanted some input.
Thanx for your help Bill. I haven't even got a chance to take it out yet.
I am an Explorer man and have had all the explorers. But I still try different machines to see how they compare. I've had an X5 for years as a field machine. Sold it to try the T2. Like a fast machine in the field. What sold me on trying the T2 is the size coil, Bal, and speed. Not to mention the depth. Another thing that appealed to me was the # of tones. Unlike the X5, although that was a great machine too. Hope I didn't make a mistake letting the X5 go.

NH Bob, I've had my T2 since last Fall and have used it in all kinds of conditions. I have had no problems whatsoever with it. Thanks to a handy hint I read on this forum, I carry two ziploc bags in my bag that I have used twice to cover the battery compartment and control head. I hold them in place with rubber bands. In one instance I used the bags when it started drizzling, in the other I used them when I went hunting in a wooded area after 2 days of steady rain. They kept water from bothering the T2 and I worked it for hours in those conditions. It is a tough detector and I am sure, once you get used to it, you are going to be very happy with it. It finds stuff in places others have assured me are completely played out.

Went to an old Muster field that me and several other guys have hunted to death for three years.
To my surprise, I popped this little goodie with the T2. This is the main reason I got one.
The little field is no more than 3 acres.
