Just got an email Kellyco xterra sale!

At our dealers in the UK the Terra's have been lowered in price and I can get a 705 for £420 if I wanted one.

But the price has been lowered because the Terra range is being discontinued in the next year plus starting by all accounts the 305 which a mate in Australia has told me .
Bet that is so people that don't want to spend to much have to buy the Go Find , don't think that will force people to buy it though !

Any other machine is better than a Go Find , the build quality is appalling and the 305 is a better bargain .
Even if the Go Find stem is a good idea , its been made of flimsy plastic which wont last long.

What's your source for that tidbit of info? To the best of my knowledge it's not being discontinued for several years yet.

I also got that email that you can buy a 705 for $600. Similar discounts on the 505 and the 305. Wasn't aware that the line was being discontinued though.

Its on the Australian relic hunting forum that the 305 has been discontinued but I cant remember where I saw it .
A mate from OZ also said it and I got the info from a dealer here in the UK too and to make things worse the E.Trac is on the way out at some stage too.
I don't know the time frame but in the next year I think it will start to happen .

I only hope they are going to replaced the machines and not just scrap them but with Minelab being what they are at the moment anything is possible .

Also heard that Minelab may sell the relic and coin side of the business off or should I say Codan might sell it !

Codan are out of touch I think and it is showing in minelab , wish Minelab wasn't sold to them .

With the introduction of the Go-Find as an entry level machine, I can see the discontinuance of the 305, but I think that the 505 and 705 will be around for a long while.
One big reason for my thought on this is the money that Coiltek has invested in authorized Xterra coil R&D in recent years. Why would they bother for a machine scheduled for the bin?

Maybe the coils will fit the new model if or when it comes but they are all going in the next few years or so.
I would like a new model anyway , going to buy 1 last 705 before they go though.
