Just got an ID on this wreath from a pro.

He said it was the wreath to an early militia buckle(federal eagle). It was in my trash from some farm field digging I did about a month ago and I can't even be sure which farm field it was. The reason I threw it in the trash is because it is so thin and when it was covered with dirt it just seemed like a thin piece of hardware. Last week when I knocked the dirt off I could see the leaves and thought: "This might be something". I'm glad I went through the trash instead of just dumping it!

Congrats! I almost did the same thing last month with a 1820's button, glad remembered to take it out of the junk bag and check it out!

That's a cool find Neal.:clapping: I always check my garbage pocket also and one time I had a merc dime in there and if I hadn't of looked it would have ended up in the garbage can. HH.

Glad you saved that one Neal. I wonder how many of us
throw away good items by not taking time to clean them
up and see what they are? Case in point!! HH

Im pretty darn careful about anything i dig taking it home and like Santa... checking it twice. There has been several times ive had some good stuff i almost threw away. Great find there Neal. Better take a something more than a shovel if you want to hunt a field now.... they are almost impossible to dig around here.
