Just got the new eorutek pro with 11" DD coil. Man this machine rocks!!!

Just picked up the eurotek pro with the 11" DD coil. Seems to airtest a quarter just as high as my omega and gamma. Technology has really come along way from what we had back in the 1980's. Man FT is really coming out with some real cool stuff. I see another reason that I was not aware of that I believe has an effect on the cost is, you actually have to mount the control box on the rod and also the arm cuff. I guess by knocking that part of the assembly down at the factory, it makes it cheaper for us users. I took it out a bit and just tested it in my yard. I think this is going to be one real cool jewelry hunting unit. Also compared to my gamma since it is mounted on the same type of S rod, it just feels a little more comfortable while swinging. And the hide away jack plug to keep out the dirt................Cool feature!! Real easy to use and kicking little unit. I am very impressed. HH, Tim

Thanks for the report Tim. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a Eurotek pro myself.
I like hunting farm fields that have had old home sites in them and it sounds perfect for this.
My Vaquero does a pretty good job at these sites but does have a problem with bigger iron.
There isn't many videos out there yet on the Eurotek pro, but what I have seen has been positive.
Thanks again for your post and hope to see more from you and your new Eurotek pro....HH

I been real busy and all so it may take about a week before I can get a chance to take it out and really try the eurotek. But if your used to tesoro units, this thing feels just as light as a tesoro. And it runs on the same battery. It also saves your settings so it has internal settings for tones, disc, and volume. Where else can you find a unit that does that for the money 299.99 with the big coil????? Also if you already have the 11" DD coil for teknetics or fisher then you can save even more because the standard 8" eurotek is only like 219.99. How cool is that?? I know alot of guys do not swear by air test but I had rather have a unit that air test a coin better than 10 inches and locks on with the VID number than a machine that does not see a coin at 8" with an air test. If you get one, spend the cash for the one with the 11" DD coil. I just use to toe of the coil to pin point with instead of using the pin point function. You will be impressed when you get one, HH Tim

I went to a plowed field in upsate N.Y. with the Pro yesterday, got an 1864 indian Head, 2 musket balls, an early flat button with shank. and some other brass and lead dodads. Iron all over but the good targets came through loud and clear. I hunt with zero discrimination and like hearing the Iron real low and hearing mid and high tone loud. The recovery speed of this machine is great also. Looking to go back again this weekend.

Mine will be here around 5pm. I will mess about in the yard tonight. I should be able to get out first thing in the morning to a good spot.

...I have used it in areas where an F75 or T2 would have been noisy...I know as I have used them both in these spots. So far...not a peep from the Eurotek...and that is running it maxed out..

I tested mine today on a 6"deep silver quarter in my yard. I had my cell in my pocket, and less than 100 feet from my home Wi-Fi. Absolutely no issues at max sensitivity :)

Eurotek

With the 8" concentric coil there is no issues with EMI, even in the city around power lines and transformers.
But the 11" DD coil is more sensitive and is affected by EMI to some degree.
Even in the bad areas a sensitivity setting of 5 allows a very smooth performance.
If you hunt around old home sites where nails are common the 11" DD coil is a necessity.
Very fast recovery even with targets very close to each other.
I am amazed at the speed and accuracy of the ID numbers.
The audio is very unique.
No need for ID icons, because after a few hours of use you can usually tell what the target (coin) is by both the numbers and the audio.
This has become by back up to the F75 LTD and when I'm heading for the city where EMI is a problem for the F75 the Eurotek is my go to machine.

Does the Eurotek use a screw on or push on coil connecter ?
Eurotek uses push on and the Eurotek Pro uses screw on.

Thanks for the answers guys, appreciate it.-----One other question---what I.D. # does zinc pennies come in at?---Are they 78--or??------I didn't see them on the chart when I pulled up the manual.---Can zincs be adjusted with the disc to come in on the VCO tone or do they always come in as high tone (no matter how the disc is adjusted)?---------Thanks, Del

Are zinc pennies typically coming in at 78 on this detector?---Which would put them in the 70-79 VCO range so they wouldn't "high tone" when the disc is set up like this.-----I just don't like the idea of zincs high toning with the other high conductors.

Disc 79 makes 70-79 vco. But then of course everything below 70 is gone.

I got out with it today. Zincs came in as a 77 for me. With the disc on 79 they were a VCO tone. Old pull tabs came in as 64, with a VCO sound when disc was set to 54. I pulled one nickel at 5" with a VDI number of 57.
I did notice that the machine was chatty, but not a chatty from having the sens set too high, or from EMI. It just seemed really sensitive to any small particle that might be a good signal. Kinda hard to explain. I adjusted my swing speed several times to try to stop this, but it still happened. When I got a solid coin signal, it locked on nicely though. There was no mistaking what it was. The pinpoint is dead on in depth and location. Many times I did not have to use my handheld pin pointer. I was able to dig a 3" diameter plug down to the depth indicated, and the coin was either right at the bottom of the plug, or on the top of the hole.
All in all the machine does have a learning curve. I have had a Delta in the past, and this machine is very similar, and very different at the same time. I did feel like I could swing this thing forever. Very light feel to it, but also felt very solidly built. Cam locks were solid, and there was zero wobble to it at all.
The golden looking thing in the pic I believe, is just a junk decoration from a baseball trophy

Very welcome D&P. Amazing how it switches from a saturated audio to a VCO without changing modes on different targets.
