Thanks I appreciate your answers, and looking forward to the reads.

if you still have the f-75 i dont think i would bother with the t-2, too simular, minus a few options, the only real avantage the t-2 has is the expanded iron range that is an avantage for the relic hunter

Very hot unit. Ultra fast response and a very deep detector. Very good at detecting small brass, lead, etc at great depths. I just wish it had a back light for night detecting. I always find stuff left behind and wind up staying past dark...

I'd have to admit I'm still learning mine. We've only been out maybe 5 times in two years. It's a keeper though, with response and adjustments far beyond my trusty BH Time Ranger.

But, Elton, you seem more like the guy who would've already tried one if you were interested or do a little horse-trading for one.

Since the T2 forum's kinda quiet lately, go back and read the old posts when more owners were active here.

I'm a teknetics dealer in Germany since June 2008. Just wanted to make sure you guys know that to make sure you use the bias filter for everything I'm going to write :teknetics:

I bought my first T2 used in 2006 short after it's release. I didn't like it much because I couldn't get the interference it picked up under control. The manual didn't have any information in it, that the disc setting affects the gain or processing mode. I bashed the unit on the forums because I wasn't able to get it stable. Later I bought a Fisher F75 from the same company and the secret was posted on the forums that the disc setting in DE mode affects the power of the F75. Because of the forums I learned to control the F75 and it's power. It became my personal # 1 detector. I wondered that the same company that made the T2 made the F75 that I liked so much. I bought the T2 again and knew how to control it's power this time, because disc affects the power and therefor stability on the T2 too. Compared to the F75 the T2 has the expanded iron range, which can come in handy if coins are otherwise masked by iron. The new 6" DD coil pushes it's iron handling capability to a degree that has to be seen to believe. I like to run disc at 0 and tones at 2+. No display needed with that setting, just wait for the high pitch. Coins on top of nails, next to nails ....no problem. Combined with the low weight, low power consumption, extreme speed I doubt that any other detector can do as good in iron. The US price is $799 which is a great deal. No, you can buy it from me, but please buy it from a forum sponsor, because these great forums help us to get better with our detectors.

& have turned several other people onto it as well including my hunting buddy who couldn't afford the F75. A super buy for the $, & excellent in trash. NASA Tom gave me a setting for iron a couple years ago & I have not looked back since. It's the disc 21, 1 tone method in thick iron I talk about all the time. Works wonders for me even with the big stock coil.....
Once the ground is more diggable (getting there!) :) I'll be giving that small DD a go for sure around some pesky cellar hole foundations. The perfect test of a detector/ coil in iron is around these foundations. With 200 years of square nails & other junk, no cellar hole is ever hunted out & lots remains masked. That would be my wish for the perfect detector...does not have to be super deep, but one that specializes or really does "see through the iron"...

with 1 tone in a very trashy area wouldn't you have to constantly watch the meter instead of just listening for the good tone signals. thanks.

Yes. Tom told me originally to listen to the audio more than watch the screen. I assume because with so many nails next to good items it throws the number ID off alongside number averaging happening too. Not to mention in a really trashy spot it would be hard to even keep your eyes following the screen at all times anyhow......
Some people say they have good results with 21 & 2 tones, but I would rather keep it simple with all that static audio going on.....
