Just made a verbal agreement with one of the hotels on the lake...

they are going to let me water detect their swimming area and keep everything I find and for no charge while I am doing what I am doing I will remove the nasty stuff I find (nails, pulltabs, shredded cans, etc.) and also for free I will locate and mark where their stakes are in the water so they can put up bouys to mark the swimming area.

I made a couple good contacts and hoping I find all the marker stakes they have. Since it is over 80 degrees in the shade (hottest part of the day right now) I let them know I would be back in the morning when it is cooler.

They will provide the markers so the floating sieve will do double duty to hold the markers.

I am hoping to find some nice coins, maybe jewelry too but if nothing else I will get to play in the water and get to help them out as well.

I hope you find some good stuff! :)

I'm heading down there in the morning while it is cooler. I am sure it will take more than one day to do the work/play. They have an indoor pool so not sure how much will be lost out in the lake. Maybe old things from before the hotel was made. Maybe they quit having a swimming area because they lost the posts. Either way I get to play/work/and get wet all at the same time.

I don't believe they have a beach but a break wall. Winter plays havoc with the shoreline...beaches disappear and major erosion is the reason many install break walls.

Since it sounds like you've obtained permission for a virgin spot.
