Just Ordered My XP!

Hi Folks,

Just ordered my XP from Rob at robsdetectors.com. Fingers crossed all goes smoothly cause its a chunk of change! Anyway wondering if anyone has opinions on getting started and what to look for first?

Just take it out the box,charge all the components,switch it on,load Basic1 which is the default prog,if it beeps you dig it its that simple basically.

Enjoy your new Deus,when you have a few hours on the clock then maybe try Deus Fast or experiment with one of the other progs,the Deus is as easy or as complicated as you want it.

dont try to figure it all out overnight

read the instruction book
& watch some of the videos on youtube

& have fun

After Basic go to Goldmaxx Power mode , think its the 2 or 3 along then stay with that for a month . If you have a good dry beach that produces then try dry beach mode and then that will get you used to the machine. When you are then its time for you to learn the rest .
Dont go by numbers on this machine , they are not the most reliable . At first learn the sounds.

I've only had my Deus for 4 months now - it's a fantastic machine !
This is what most people told me to do when I asked the same question that you are ...

(1) Keep it simple in the beginning - just run in "Basis 1" for the first month or so - ( I made a lot of great finds running in Basic 1 - Large Cents, Barbers, Mercs, etc.!)
(2) Keep reading the posts in this forum and ask questions.
(3) Watch Gary's ( from UK) video series on the Deus.
(4) Be sure to get a copy of Andy Sabisch's Deus Handbook.

Congrats on your new toy. Don't worry, after you find 3 more gold rings---you can tell your wife about your new detector--LOL. Besides she may let you detect more as long as you keep producing rings!!!!
