just ordered a new tejon,anyone have a very basic way to ground balance this beast?by the numbers please.:shocked:

Procedure from the manual works; here it is:

"Start with the controls in the following positions:

1. SENSITIVITY on OFF.
2. Mode in the ALL METAL position. Your Tej
 
Vaquero does not have the trigger switch ... but otherwise the procedure is essentially the same. Link to the manual page at the Tesoro web page is: http://www.tesoro.com/info/manuals/manuals.html

I found it best to ground balance the Tejon by pulling the pinpoint trigger switch toward you (this puts it in a fast retune all metal mode) and while holding the switch toward you pump the coil up & down and turn the g.b. dial to where you get a very slight increasing sound as the coil is lowered towards the ground (a slight positive ground balance setting). The Tejon is a fantastic detector.
