Well my 12x10 DD tesoro coil sold today on ebay and just ordered a 4.5 crossfire coil to go with my new line up the gtp 1350 and i hope i can get into the trashy stuff and find the good stuff! any opions or suggestions would be great thanks!

You made a good investment. Comes in handy when detecting close
to foundations and fences, and in trashy areas.

Will it hit 6 inches? I don't think mine ever got that far. I've air tested it (for what its worth)
and usually get 5inches depending on the size of the coin. In the field 5 inches
is respectable considering how many targets are only in the 3 to 5 inch range. In the field it
might get that (plus or minus ground conditions). If its a big target then yes you'll probaly get 6 and up.
My little pro-pointer gets 2 inches but point it toward my car 12inches or more and it goes crazy.

Hope you bought an extra rod for it. It makes changeing coils a whole lot eaiser.

no I have'nt that will have to wait money is really tight right now so later on down the road i'm hoping tax time my wife will let me get a sun ray probe for the gtp as well

I've got seven inches on a quarter with the Sniper on the 250. Surprised the hell out of me the first time it happened.

The point of the smaller coil is not extreme depth, but to have fewer targets beneath the coil. That is the challenge all trashy sites present us: a target rich environment, but one that clutters the coil field and the detectors response.

Fortunately, with few exceptions, trashy sites means newer sites. This suggests that extreme depth isn't the primary concern, Rather, being able to "pick between" targets is the order of the day. This is what we mean when we refer to target separation.

However, the GTP 1350 is, in my experience, a sensitive detector, with a lot of gain in the receive circuits. Thi sbodes well for the use of small coils.

With lots of reserve gain, you can crank UP the receiver circuits when using the smaller coil, and offset some of the inherent depth loss from the coils smaller size. In theory, you should be able to balance depth loss with higher gain. In practice, I doubt this will occur point for point across the board. Nevertheless, you should see an offset of the coils small size and achieve respectable depth performance. 5"-7" on average should be doable.
