The brown truck dropped off my second hand Safari a couple of hours ago and I put it together and ran a bunch of different items under the coil. I had an E-Trac that I used for about 6 hours and decided to trade for the Safari and its simpler interface. My other detector is an F-75 and it's great, but doesn't handle wet beach So Cal sand very well. With the F-75, you can tell a clad dime from a silver dime from a quarter by the target ID. When air testing targets on the Safari in coin/jewelry mode, there were some unexpected results like: A morgan silver dollar has a lower tone and target id than a clad quarter. Clad dimes and silver dimes can both come in at 37. I notched out 34 & 35 to avoid digging zinc pennies, but then had to 35 back on because some small silver jewelry reads 35. One nice thing about the E-Trac was that it displayed the sensitivity when in Auto. I suppose there's no way to see the value on the Safari? Anyway, I'm looking forward to using it and have enjoyed reading all of your great posts!
