Just to keep a little hunting talk going.

I've revisited the site that gave me the buffalo nickel and 56d Rosie the other day for my 100th silver coin for the year and while my brief stints in between showers, cold and wind chill temps. haven't yielded any more silver of any kind, I do have hopes. The school and park have been around since the early 80's, but I suspect the field(s) may have seen some kind of activity earlier. I'm not sure if some fill dirt may have been brought in as in two different parts of the park the dirt is of different colors and on one stretch gb is typical 62 +/-, and on the other area gb is 71-78. Anyway, I have dug another 3 wheats, several pre 82 memorial cents and a few clads from late 60's and into the 70's. I've been using the 10" coil and running wide open with 1 disc. Am going to switch over to the 11" dd coil for a little better coverage and depth. The wheats and most of the earlier clad have been deeper, in the 4-6" depth range and while the 10" coil hits those coins fine, just maybe there might be a goodie down there near the limit of the 10" coils depth range. I am already tired of 20's, 30's and 40's temps. Yes, I know what some of you northern guys are dealing with. Happy holidays. HH jim tn

Look at the bright side. When that snow melts it will get the ground nice and soft. Okay, so it might be a little while.

Fortunately, no snow down my way, just a tad cooler then normal. Did get a short hunt in this morning and besides 2 wheats and a bunch of clad, did dig a 1996 Kennedy half. It gave a little bouncy 92-94 reading at a 4" depth. I was in hopes of a slanted silver quarter, but its still fun to find a half. It was partially on edge. Don't find many, silver or clad halves, so finding any is always fun. HH everyone, jim tn
