It's not a hard detector to operate. With your experience, and just changing some tones around seeing how they sound... Then adjusting sens etc you'll do fine.

Be ready to hear some targets you have not heard with prior detectors while your swinging.. Not much nulling with the 75 SE..it's that fast on the reset.

There is a sequence of steps to quiet it down when you get it in an environment where it is too chatty to use effectively. Tom Dankowski did a write up that summarizes the steps very well. Bart (Big Boy's Hobbies) had posted a link a while back.

Go to this thread:
http://www.findmall.com/read.php?37,1469174,1469174#msg-1469174
and read it and find the link. Keep a copy of the pertinent part with you until you are familiar enough with the detector to know how to approach noisy environments without the reference.

Great detector. It is possible to get it set up wrong and fight with it. And if in doubt, do a factory reset (read the manual) to get to a known starting point.

Have used it two seasons now. Have made a lot of great finds. You can set it very sensitive and deep, and it might Chit cht on smaller flax and stuff, but the sound of a coin, you will learn, is very solid. Practice with some coins and you will see what I mean. I have found small stuff like jewelry that other machines might of missed. I also dont consider a park cleaned out till Ive been there. A number of times I will go to a "cleaned out" park and do OK. The previous folks clean out a lot of surface trash, and the 75 se comes in for the deeper older stuff. I am no spring chicken and I can swing that machine all day. Good Luck, CO
