Dug this today, my second silver dollar in a year's time. The first was an 1889 Morgan. This dollar was 2" deep, thought it was can slaw at first. Cursor pegged to the upper right and down a bit, boy I'm glad I didn't stab her, even tho she's holed. Made my day!

What type of area was it? (park, yard, school, etc). Just curious where silver dollars get lost!

Wow.
I dug this one from a large sports field that dates back to around the late 1940's, about 20' from the old concession stand. I've dugs lots o mercs and wheats out of here also. The Morgan dollar that I dug last June came from a large picnic area behind a Catholic church, this site dates back to the late 1800's and had been scalped of silver coin for the last 30-40 years.

I too dug one behind an old church that was once a school,i got back in the edge of the woods behind the church,
evidently they went back there in the old days, but it could have been clear back then.
