Just wondering what anyone uses to lessen the weight

After 2-3 of hours of hunting my wrist start aching. Driving a truck all day doesnt help any either.
I've seen ads for 2 types of bungie cord supports. Anyone ever try them?

Hello golddigger, my wrist used to ache too when I first started, but you do get used to the weight, if you're detecting a lot. I haven't tried the bungie cord thought I have heard differing opinions on them. I guess some are set up better than others. But it might be something for you, if you keep having trouble with your wrists.

I use the Lejermon with suspenders purchased from Dixie Metal Detectors and also a modified bungie cord harness that I made from clips, etc. that I bought from West Marine. Easy to fabricate. I not infrequently swing the Quattro 4-5 hrs/day 3-5 days a week and couldn't possibly do that without the bungie cord setup. Takes a little while to get used to, more equipment to deal with, but works for me.

When I started with the Quattro it seemed heavy and I got a swingy thing bungee and never felt confortable with it. It transfered the weight from my arm to my upper back. So I stopped using it. Eventually I got use to the Quattro's weight. Try these things, they help me, switch arms when one starts getting tired, sit down and rest occasionally, don't extend the coil any farther out than necessary. It's amazing how I forget about having tired arms when good targets are dug.

Hi Gold Digger,
Here is what i would use if i was swinging for a good 8 hours. You can set the height off the ground and it will stay their all day. Since i have the exterra 70 now i dont have to worry about the weight.

Hey pinpointa it looks strange but I bet it works really well hey. Why dont you get a bungy setup like they use on the SD/GP series....just a thought.
Cheers!

If you use the 7.5" coil it will make a big difference. It also helps when you are more frequently digging targets. I get the most fatigue if I am searching a lot but not digging many targets. I have tried the bungee method and it "works" but there are other things with it I don't like so I have given up on it.

I thought I'd seen it all, but apparently not!!!!!! Wow, what a contraption. I have to admit that is some setup you have there. If it works as good as it looks, you ougtta go into production with it. You know us "older guys" like myself, are starting to really think about that kind of stuff. Keep up the good work!!! Marc Trainor. (Golden, I hope your not reading this post. You'll put me on the "lazy guy" list, but honestly, I still think it sometimes gets down to "whatever it takes" to get the job done. :(:O:|
