This is the fire that is near my in-laws. They can smell the smoke, it is only 3 miles away. Looks pretty scary to me.

the flames are gtone but there are some hot spots. They showed the burned out houses in Bastrop and tose Nuns fighting the fire with garden hoses. Pretty sad. God bles their courage though. May God keep you all safe. PEACE:RONB

Many have already lost their homes and everything they own to the extreme flames and I pray that God will be merciful to and help them to build their homes and lives, anew, and to have more peace and love by worshiping HIm in spirit and in truth and leaning on and trusting in Jesus! I pray for the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives because of the fires and the harmfulness from breathing the black smoke! May God have mercy upon them and each of us, for we know not what tomorrow may bring for any one of us! Amen! Ma Betty

I have a friend/co worker whose husband just got home from working the fires in Texas. He was there for 2 1/2 weeks, will be home for a week and will then be sent back to Texas for another 2 1/2 weeks to work. He works for the Alabama Forestry Commission. He is running bulldozers trying to cut fire lanes, etc.
