the deus hitting a 14 barber quarter with the 9 inch coil.

sens 93 tx 3,reactivity 2, silencer 0,full tones,12 kh,audio responce 5,discrim 1, my ground balance around 86 and can lower to 84 to get extra pop here but run 86 99% of time.

CD------Is there a reason(s) why you used (or preferred) 12 KHz over 8 KHz for these programs & if so, what were the reason(s)?-------Thanks--------Del

Just my two cents, and I don't see it discussed here very much--12KHz tends to sound far better (at least in my area) than 8KHz. Also, the disparity in VDI (when NORM is off), is easier to see/read/digest when comparing target readings between 4KHz and 12KHz when evaluating a target rather than between 4KHz and 8KHz.

good point beep silver, the main reason I use 12kh is thats what I learned my machine with so its what im use to and its a good all around setting. I do hunt in 8 sometimes when I hunt with my hunting partner because it cuts down on us interfering with one another. I just have to remember that the id is lower because I have the norm function off. For some reason around here 18 kh seems a little more chirpy than the rest.

WOW...pretty darn amazing!

A long, long time ago...maybe 5years+..when I tried to see max depth with my Deus and 9" coil at the beach in dry sand the best I could do was about 6". (But I believe I was using valid VDI as my test..not positive though) I will definitely try to re-do my test using your setup and the 11" coil. Just getting a signal will be proof enough for me.

soil conditions will affect depth especially at the beach so everyone needs to keep that in mind. still impressive with the nine how many machines will even air test that deep.

So a TX of three and power set at 93 recovery is what? (2-3) Disc 0? Tones full? GB negative 2-3 digits from the mineral ground reading (number above your setting?) And your silencer -1. How stable is it when going over the ground around your deep targets...Thanks nice test

the program is stable and you can hunt with it just fine , the negative ground balance will make it a little unstable thats why I run the actual number, but if I was on a site with deep deep targets I would bump it down and others run it like that all the time. reactivity 2 so its still a fast program. silencer 0 fulll tones disc 1 if your wondering its not so trumped up program like some people use on machines to show their depth.

honestly didnt even look because I know it wont id it at those kind of depths,no machine I know of will if it will even hit at that depth. What ive noticed with the deus is on super deep targets if it does give a vdi it will read high sometimes , unlike say a a garrett at pro which will read lower and even call good targets iron at the edge of its detection depth.

I know if you are in a shoe what clean area this could be a great program but if there is iron I would not want depth because the nails and such will cause your machine to react to the higher power your running. I turn down my sens to about 65 or so and but you also have more of a sandy soil I think in your area?

thats why I have 3 different programs that I run for different conditions. Each has a specific job to do.

Thank you for your posts Calabash, they give us who are having some difficulty using the Deus hope. I am going to try and gather all three of your programs together. Good luck with the rest of your hunts.
