Today I visited one of my local haunts where I have been digging some decent finds the past couple weeks. The pics show the 1912D in spectacular shape I dug today, The 1926S I dug last Friday is almost slick but "I think" I can make out a faint S mintmark? The 1914D I dug last year is in BAD shape and I'm afraid to try and clean it, The 1914S I dug earlier this year was stuck face to face with a 1924S hence the corrosion. So far this site has produced 6 indians (1902-190:geek:, 14 early wheats (1910-1929), 12 later wheats (1942-1957), 1945 war nickel, 1957 nickel, 1920 Buffalo, 1920 mercury dime, 1957 roosevelt and various other odds and ends. I was just showin' em off, thanks for looking.

Man i love how you cleaned those up. Way to go and HH

You have a good site to work. Nice dates and mint marks as well as impressive photos.

great coins, best I've done so far is a 1910 penny and it wasn't in that good of a condition, ahh well just have to keep on diggin i suppose. Jimmie

Congrats on those great finds! Try heating some (1/4 cup) Hydrogen Peroxide in the microwave for 30-45 seconds, then putting the penny in it. It'll fizz like an Alka-Seltzer, and when the fizzing stops, rinse it off & have a look. You can repeat the process multiple times if needed. If after the 2nd or 3rd time, if it hasn't helped any, it's likely not gonna do much good to continue.

I wish I could take as good of close-up pics as some of you guys do

I was considering an ultrasonic cleaner. Has anybody had any experience with them?
