The pic shows a collection of circa 1880 medieval themed buttons. The lower left has a Celtic Dragon button. Celtic dragons were important during the Middle Ages of Ireland in that they connected cosmic forces with Earth. The term "ley of the land" came from this connection. Maybe this button was lost by an Irish immigrant.
