Large Coil Problems?

Golden Eagle

Today after a five hour hunt I cleaned my large coil as usual as dried it off. I'm pretty careful about doing this. Tonight when I went to charge the head unit, headphones, and coil, I noticed that the constant white light while charging wouldn't shut off even after an 45 minute charge time. When I took the clip off the coil the LED is flashing quite fast, more than one flash per second. I tested the coil and it seems to be doing fine otherwise reading silver and gold at the right VDI's and sounds. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong and should I continue to use the large coil as it seems to work? I've only had it for two months. My gut feeling says it needs a repair of some kind but I wanted to hear from some of you on the forum first before I send it in for any repairs if needed.

The coils can take 2 hours to charge. Is your headphones turned off? If the detector is on the coil light will blink faster than when off. Occasionally after turning off my head phones they will switch on after a few seconds by their selves. If I don

Yep sounds like either the phones or the control unit are on to me. The fast flashing is machine calibrating itself, lasts about 20 seconds then a flash every second after that.
