Last 2 weeks or so of finds with almost a no-no posted. Close Call!

Hello once again to you all! Been real busy on this end as far as work and other things and just haven't had the extra time to post my finds until now. Last night as I worked on the finds from the past 2 weeks or so I almost didn't catch an item with a profane word on it......I mean who would think something you've found would have something like this besided the Heads I Win / Tails You Lose Tokens that I have found before but this was different. It was an Aluminum Tag, the one's that people could make and put whatever they wished on them back in the day and luckily I decided to look at it before I scanned the item. I found this item in my mother's yard (she and her husband just moved to town last week) and have found others like these before....nothing special about those so didn't pay much attention about what was on it. Anyways....I decided to look at it last night and when I looked at it, I couldn't believe what it said! Let's just say there was a 4 lettered word (use your imagination here) with YOU behind it and in the center of this it reads TRAVEL BY BUS. On the reverse it has a Greyhound Dog running with LINES under it so it must have been made at a Greyhound Bus Station years ago. I covered the profanity on the Token with a sticker since I wanted to post it so the sticker wasn't found with the item...LOL! I also have in my pics of the Misc. Finds of a Rubber Band which was not found but used to hold some Marbles from rolling around.....still looking for my first intact Rubber Band. LOL!!!

I won't go into much detail about where the finds were found or how many on what day since I want this to be as brief a post as possible since I still have this last weekend's post to do up so on that note let's get started.

All the finds in this post were found in an array of spots. Fairgrounds, Parks, Ballfield, and Boulevards. Many of the hunts I went on were only 2-3 hours with 2 of them maybe around 6-7 hours. Some of the notable finds like the '97,'16 Barber Dime were found at a Fairgrounds that I had been at previously where I had found a '16-d Barber Quarter and other finds. I also dug a few Wheats here and a Merc.

The Clad Half, Profanity Token, Tag, Merc, Stamped Penny dated 63-d (can't make out what it is) and a few Wheats were found in my mother's yard.

The Susan B. Anthony Dollar, Old Tootsie Toy Tow Truck, Merc and some Wheats were found on 2 Boulevards in Fargo, ND.

Silver Ring, Silver Quarter (found sitting on edge sticking out of the dirt), '14 Barber Dime, '97 Injun, '52 Jefferson Nickel, 3 Marbles, 2 Pendants with Mary and Jesus on them, and some Wheats were found in different road construction than Fargo's (same spot where I and Chris(SoCenWI) hunted previously). Should have check those Boulevards better Chris since they really tore those up....removing large trees and also removing ENTIRE BOULEVARDS 2' DEEP. This is where I found the Barber Dime at this Depth where they removed that much dirt so who knows what they hauled away.

A lot of the other finds like the 1

It still looks like you are doing good yet and hope the good finds continue for a while yet. I am still not getting out much as after my knee went bad my left elbow got infected and had to spend time in the ER getting intervenes antibiotic every 12 hours for 3 days trying to clear it up, then my left knee got real bad again and couldn't walk a few days last week. I did get out last Sunday as we wanted to pick up some new coins if nothing else for the club meet on Friday. Was out for a hour and a half before my knee got so bad, but did get some new coins plus my first find was a 1905 IH penny and before I left I got 2 silver rosies in one hole but no wheat pennies to be found, but got 7 new quarters 2 new dimes and only 2 new pennies. The shocking part this was found behind the school in Casselton just a little south of the new grandstand in the open area between the baseball field and the football field. Was good to see silver and a IH penny once again and I wonder if there is more there too, sure going to try it again.
I was using a used Sovereign XS2a as my E-Trac I ordered in March is still back ordered at Minelab along with a Sovereign GT since April.

Rick

If you plan on hunting anymore of the ground out by the grandstands, you better hurry! We just did a bunch of sidewalks there and had to have a culvert put in as well so water could drain. Don't know when but there will be a lot of fill added where the sidewalks are due to how much higher they are than the ground. Hope you make it back out there and find more goodies.

Sorry to hear about your knee acting up again and your elbow also. Hopefully it will heal up soon for you so you can do more hunting.

Thanks for the reply Rick and look forward to my other post coming up tonight from the weekend hunt. See you at the meeting Friday! Good Luck and HH until then.

Looks like that ole XS is still sniffing out the old coins James.:clapping: Nice going. Got a good variety of stuff and probably have all your categories covered for your meeting. Went to NUWC yesterday morning to see some of my buddies that I use to work with. Was talking with Mike and of course metal detecting came up and he said why don't you come over to my place and do some detecting sometime. The place was built in the early 1920's and it's even in my home town.:clapping: I know exactly where it is as I have driven by it many times wishing I could metal detect there and now I finally get to. There is a God in heaven after all.:detecting: Good luck and HH on your next outing.

Eddie

Nice bunch of Goodies you got there. Hopefully I can find something good tomorrow before the meeting I havent been able to do a whole lot of detecting lately but oh well see you there.

else might be sitting on them boulevards even after a person has hunted them. It's happened too me as well with coins showing up after a return trip. Thanks for the reply and Good Luck and HH to you back in Wisconsin.

construction where the boulevards or sidewalks have been torn out and you will be popping oldies in no time. Hope you find something before the meeting. See you there! Good Luck and HH to you.
