Last couple hunts.......

Some of us a little more than others, evidently.

I'm with ya Liz! I'm all about textures and some textures are just not... of God. lol Another thing that bothers me is sweet potatoes. I love sweet potato casserole but I'm not a fan of your baked sweet tater with butter & brown sugar. Reason being, you sometimes run across a "string" in that sweet tater and I can't stand it. I will sometimes pick at one till I get it down, but I'd rather have it in a casserole.

I don't want celery in ANYTHING because I detest celery! I don't want chunky crunchy stuff in my potato salad either. Leave out the onions, pepper and celery. I don't like regular salad either. I don't like lettuce except in very small quantities! No raw carrots, no cucumbers, no radishes, etc. I can choke down a little salad if it's drenched in dressing and jazzed up with good stuff! lol

Chocolate is okay as long as it's not chocolate overload. I like a little chocolate SOMETIMES, but I'm not a huge fan. And chocolate and mint are NOT meant to be mixed!!!! There ain't no way I'm gonna eat a Peppermint Patty!!! And chocolate mint ice cream is an abomination!!!!!!

I could go on..........

Lisa

Gee thanks, Hank! I appreciate it! You're on the other side the state from me but I knew I could count on you!

Lisa

Peaches and bananas are good for ya!

Just don't tell me that you hate pecan pie!

:puke: YUCK!!!!

But all that other stuff you mentioned. I'm beginning to think you are a picky eater!

I'll just call all three of you sisters in Christ!

Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I could eat a whole pecan pie at one settin!!! YUM!!!!

Lisa

I was beginning to think you were from another country!

Most women love Chocolate and don't get enough it seems without eating too much and gaining weight! I love mint and chocolate together and also peanut butter and chocolate mixed! My brother also liked the Mint Patties (delicious  ) Cliff wouldn't eat Cauliflower in anything or by it self...it made him gag...couldn't even stand to have it in his mouth!! I used to hate sweet potatoes because as a kid on the farm growing them ourselves they were stringy and made me want to puke but was made to eat them when on the table! I eat them now and the ones bought at the stores usually don't have any strings in them! If so, like you, I just pick it out! There isn't really much I won't eat being brought up that way, but I hate tea unless it is very sweet and I cannot stand Mushrooms, I pick them out of anything that has them in it and Cliff always ordered pizza without the Mushrooms for me but would order one special with them for him to eat by himself! I am a huge fan of leaf salads and potato salads and the more crunchy they are the better I like them! Oh well, different strokes for different folks like I tell my cousin in MS! Would be a dull world if we were all alike! ;) :heh:  Ma Betty

Ma, you can have ALL the crunchies out of my share of the potato salad!!!

Lisa

No, Ma, I was referring to myself & Liz and our food texture hang ups!

Lisa

AMEN, Lisa. I could have written your post. Try this trick that has always worked for me. When baking sweet potatoes, wrap in a DOUBLE layer of heavy aluminum foil and bake normally. My granny used to swear by this and since I've been doing this I've had no strings. Hallelujah! Lol. I don't eat celery in ANY form, raw or cooked. The strings are grody-plain and simple. Travis loves chocolate mint ice cream, but it's not for me either. Maybe he likes it because it's the one flavor he can truly have to himself!?! I like chocolate, but it's usually in the form of Nutella these days. Don't really go for much candy other than Reeses Pieces or my new love, Nestle Crunch Crisps. I do like a good salad, but don't like iceberg lettuce...it's too watery and not crunchy enough. Romaine all the way! As for dressing...I'm all about some Thousand Island mixed with Ranch.

I guess we are a bit peculiar, but that's okay by me. To be honest, we are all pretty darn picky eaters in this house. It gets frustrating at times. Throw in some serious food allergies to the mix and it's a nightmare at times.

Mike-Pie should exist in this order........Sweet potato, coconut cream, pumpkin, Bourbon pecan and lemon. Amen. Lol

Hey Ma, you ought to like our tea. I put a whole cup of sugar in eight cups of tea....:surprised: Sounds a bit excessive doesn't it? That's just how it has to be!

Liz, I'm convinced that we're kin folks! lol I not only have texture issues with food, but with everything! Thinks have to feel just right! lol
