I hunted one of my favorite spots tonite for a couple of hours. It's on private property and we have hunted it a total of 17 times and found 146 coins so far with the newest being 1880 and the oldest 1834. It got to the point the last few times we were there last year where we would go spend 3 hours and not find a thing so we pretty much left it alone. Then the WOT came along and changed things These 6 Indians were all DEEP and iffy signals that I'm sure the 10" coil would have thought were nails if it would have found them at all. I was having so much fun I didn't want to take the time to see if that was the case! If it doesn't rain tomorrow I will go back and see if there are more..... The fattys are 1859 and 1860 or 62.
Sunday I hunted a place I thought was picked clean (a small park that used to be a school). I had found 5 halves (4 Walkers and a Franklin), a Mexican 8 reale, a nice 1909 quarter and a lot of other silver quarters and dimes there with the Explorer & 10" coil and couldn't imagine there being any more left! This time I had the WOT. I started in the center area and sure enough I couldn't find a thing. Then I started hunting the edges. First hit was the Roosy then about an hour later I get this dime signal that ran across the top of the screen and about 6 inches down was the half laying flat! It was sitting next to iron trash as it turned out. This is the second 1918S Walking Liberty Half I have found this month!
