Last hunt until the Fall on a Revolutionary War era field...

Made the final trip out for this Spring to one of the many plowed fields that we'll be offering this Fall for the Southampton Historical Society's "Artifact Detecting Team" paid hunts.

We were finishing up the filming of our professional video to be used with the media and also online to promote this historic collaboration project. It was a gorgeous Spring day detecting a rolled plowed field situated amongst $5MM+ homes about a block away from the Atlantic ocean...can't get any better than that.

Was extremely lucky to pick up a few more colonial era items to add to my collection including two CT coppers ca. 1786-1788 and a nice period button - these items the "premium" finds along with the musket balls, plain flat buttons, buckle, square nails, etc.

Too bad those coppers take such a beating after 200+ years in the ground. See you all there in the Fall.
