Man it was NICE outside today!!! Got out and saved a few. My last hole of the day was the General Service coat button with 75% guild still on it!! This was the deepest target that I have dug with the G2, 10" deep in the side of the hole and yes, I got a square nail out of the hole with it!! What a way to end a great year. Everyone, have a safe, happy new year!!!!! Mark

mark!..that's "outrageous" performance in that you also had a square nail
in the same hole with the button!..man!..that truly is exciting to say the least!
this is solid info, in that the g2 may be a "crackerjack" coin hunter in the "old'
parks here in new england!.fantastic result mark, and "outrageous" depth on
a "coin sized" object!..sincere congrats!

Those "iffy" signals. It was a 2 way, BLAP Ping BLAP, but the ID was in the 50's. Now that I have over 20 hours on the G2, I'm gonna take the GBSE 29 back there and see if I can really tell the difference. BOTH machines have increased my finds rate, mostly in camps that were hunted hard in the 1970's & 80's.......MO

that's terrific!..i'm NOT patting myself on the back, however your explanation was exactly what i thought too!
you got a 50's visual because your detector averaged the two items in the hole.and also the audio was
NOT a "clean" high hit from all angles!..still!..as you stated, and i agree,a "hit" like that MUST be investigated!
again!..nice find, and the depth is amazing!

might partly be due to the fact that it is a lower-conductive target. I know what the G2 can do for me, but I have found its strength by working trashier sites and especially for the lower-conductive targets. Bigger, higher conductive stuff might sacrifice a bit of depth, but that's to be anticipated.

Suits me just fine Monte....I really don't coinshoot as all the really good spots for that are being worked over by the "Multi Freqs". You rarely see one of them doing whait I do in the field. I have silver in camps, but it is rare..........MO

What a great find Mark, congratulations! That G2 appears to be an outstanding detector and one that is going to hopefully bring you a lot more great finds in 2011!!! :teknetics:

yes!..monte!..i had those thoughts as well!..i am following all these g2 posts
very carefully because i am 'concerned" this "little wonder's" ability to
"smoke" out "high conductors" because of the 19 khz frequency, MAY leave something to be
desired...following these reports with "increased interest"..so far,it appears the g2 has "outstanding"
ability to "hunt in the junk!"..as a "coin sniper", i'm really interested in determining IF it has the "juice"
to get down there on "silver!"..19 khz may be a "stretch"..stay tuned!
