Last Two Hunts... Civil War, Silver, Cowboys & Indian

Sooper Dave

Well-known member
Went out Saturday on an all day hunt with LDC. I found a couple of .58 caliber bullets, one fired one dropped and a Union Eagle coat button. I also found a camp store token that I believe is from a mine here in Tennessee. I don't know if it's from a coal or zinc mine. I only found one older coin and it is an 1899 Indian. I have not found very much silver this month, so I went out after work yesterday trying to dig up one more. I got permission at an old house and got to work. I went slow trying not to miss any signals and for the first hour pulled up a bunch of wheats and two cap guns in the front yard. I went around to the side of the house and wasn't finding much. I was just about done with the side yard when I got a nice 12-45, it was good to see a Merc in the plug. I went down the yard a few more feet and got another 12-45 and pulled a Merc that has been hit with a mower. I hope we get some rain soon, it is about to dry too dig here. HH David

Thanks! I have learned from a member on another forum, what I thought was a miners camp token is a Civilian Conservation Corps camp token.

Nice collection of finds. It's dry here in Idaho, too but we did get a few showers earlier in the week. I saw some frost last week on a crop field though. Strange year.
