Hunted Sunday afternoon at the old fairgrounds for about 3 hours. Managed 5 wheats (1917,1939,1944d,1944s,1945d). One 1899 IH, and the 1912 barber dime; and no I didn't scratch her. That's an old wound.
Today went back to the small little park I featured in my last video. Pulled out 4 wheats (1914, 2- 1920's, and the trashed 1930d). Finally found my first Buffalo at that spot, a barely legible 1915. Hunted about 1/2 the time in 2-tone ferrous. I was hunting in conductive tones when I hit a pretty iffy signal. Switched to 2-tone and still hit iffy but told me I'd better check it out anyway. That's when I got the 1901 barber dime and yep, RAY, that is a rust stain from iron on top of the coin. Neat thing was it was down about 8 inches or so. Signal only hit one way and nulled out the other three in conductive tones. Only hit two ways in ferrous tones. I was stoked. Ring is junk and came in at 12-30.
The Standing Liberty Quarter was down about 8" and was a solid tone. I can barely read the date but it is a 1924d. So that was a nice find and a good way to end the 1
