Hunted Sunday afternoon at the old fairgrounds for about 3 hours. Managed 5 wheats (1917,1939,1944d,1944s,1945d). One 1899 IH, and the 1912 barber dime; and no I didn't scratch her. That's an old wound.

Today went back to the small little park I featured in my last video. Pulled out 4 wheats (1914, 2- 1920's, and the trashed 1930d). Finally found my first Buffalo at that spot, a barely legible 1915. Hunted about 1/2 the time in 2-tone ferrous. I was hunting in conductive tones when I hit a pretty iffy signal. Switched to 2-tone and still hit iffy but told me I'd better check it out anyway. That's when I got the 1901 barber dime and yep, RAY, that is a rust stain from iron on top of the coin. Neat thing was it was down about 8 inches or so. Signal only hit one way and nulled out the other three in conductive tones. Only hit two ways in ferrous tones. I was stoked. Ring is junk and came in at 12-30.

The Standing Liberty Quarter was down about 8" and was a solid tone. I can barely read the date but it is a 1924d. So that was a nice find and a good way to end the 1

you sure found some mighty fine coins! congrats and thanks for sharing. Glad to hear you were able to find some partially masked, hard to get coins

Great finds, love to hear such stories, did you do a video of the hunts?

Nope and sorry I didn't. Forgot it on Sunday and it was such a quick deal yesterday, I didn't take it either.

Congratulations on the SLQ and stuff, they don't come to easy anymore  nice hunt.

Nice recoveries. In spite of all the flooding just north of here, it is still too dry to do any digging in my neck of the woods. Any chance that 01 Barber is an S mintmark? HH Randy

Holy cow, what a nice haul you made. The 1901 Barber looks to be in very fine condition! The old E-Trac is amazing for "hunted out sites" once you learn her language:inlove: I may have to go out and brave the heat this afternoon after looking at your finds.

Great finds Neb. Thanks for posting details about signals, depths, etc. Your post confirmed I need to dig more iffy signals. Finally getting a lot of rain down here today so digging won't be quite the chore it has been lately. I'll be glad to get some relief from the dry hardpan here.

That's a great 1.5 hours. Those SLQ are awesome. Amazing more of them are not found?
Thanks for posting.
