Met up with Bryce, Guv, JDD and Crowduck this past Saturday at a pounded park. I have to say that last time I was there with my stock coil I got skunked, so it's one more great experience with my SEF coil. . .I got skunked on the silver, but I found a few indians (one 1867 with full Liberty) and wheaties, in a place where I had never dug anything but trash, deep clad and modern wheats. The coil seems to be a keeper! JDD - the 1867 is the one we were trying to read the date off of, and you thought it was 1887. I thought it was a blur. . .lol.
I got out the weekend before and dug a little silver and a 2-center. I'm throwin' it all into one picture here, leaving out the wheats and nickels.
It was fun getting out again, and great to be hunting with Bryce and Guv, nice to meet a couple of new folks as well. Since Golddigger freakin' ABANDONED me to move out of town
, I've been hunting solo if I get out at all. (Don't you feel terrible GD?
) The last couple of years have been tough to find the time to get out. Anyway. it was a good time, even though I had to cut it short to get some family time in, and hopefully we'll all do it again soon. And Ted - maybe you can make it next time!
Here are the pix. The 1867 indian is definitely the pick of the pile, although a little more soaking might be good. It surprised me what it was worth. I just looked it up out of curiosity since it was pre-1880s, which is about as old as I usually find.
