Last weeks finds

The Fog

New member
Haven't had time to post lately but here's some nice finds from last Saturday. The best find was the last of the nite and since it was dark I couldn't see very well. I haven't washed it at all yet... I need some aluminum jelly. It's a Civil War 23mm Massachusetts Volunteer Militia button. Button depicts infantry horn, 1st Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Militia "MVM". This was an old elite unit formed in 1854. This unit was reorganized into the 42nd Massachusetts Regiment during the Civil War and saw distinguished service.
I found this woman's sterling silver pin, date on back says January 26th 1904. Then there was a canadian large cent from 1908.... dam those hole drilling necklace junkies. A couple of mercs and rosie, and 3 wheaties, 1916, 1919, and 1920.

Great finds Fog, love that button. I would just brush it off with a soft tooth brush under running water if I were you. Looks like you have straightened out the safari learning curve.

The Fog,

Great finds!!!

From what I understand, the MVM is a tough one to find, congrats!
