Last Years Finds

OK Here was last years finds....mostly I think the rest of the toonies bought me coffee.

Two rings...one gold...the best find was the $.05 1880 Can. nickel....looks like a dime, though the ring is worth about $200.

The shell casing says its a rem utc 30 USA....I can't say I've ever heard of a 30 calibre but then I'm not much of a gun enthusiast.

I threw out all the nails, and bolts, and washers, etc.

Probably only about 20-30 hours of actual detecting.

I found the 1880 nickel at a lake near Fort Steele in BC. It was in about an inch of gravel and you can make out all the markings.

I feel I had a very successful first year.

Tons of ammo in the 30 cal range. There are a lot of variations. That shell looks old. I save all my ammo related finds.

If I found a gold ring every 20-30 hours I would be pretty satisfied so your results are outstanding.

Save those toonies for something more lasting than coffee.

This shell casing just says 30, as opposed to 30-30 or .308.
Was this from an old winchester carbine?

There was a 30 caliber remington round. This is what a quick search found:

Alright!:clapping:A good first year indeed! Nice finds!:thumbup:Thanks for sharing! Happy Hunting!

Most likely. Does it have a manufacturers mark of any kind? There are a slew of 30 calibers out there but it looks a little like a 30-30 case.
