Latest Update on Sherry

Pete in MI

New member
The PA just left. We are SO impressed with these doctors they have now.

The stroke was ruled out - if there was one it was one called a "transient stroke". Those tests were all good news in that they had to look for worst case (stroke, aneurism, etc.) first. So it is great those tests came back negative. The PA mentioned (as did a doctor he had talked to who remembers Sherry's case) migraine. They were talking of using a medicine for migraines to see if that would take away the pain in Sherry's head. We discussed the kidney and it is no problem, We talked about an absessed tooth and he checked her mouth and tooth, talked of the kidney and it was eliminated as a source of problem or a contributor to the problem. Talked about her sliced thumb and possible infection.

I talked with him about the Thrombophilia and mentioned that the doctor commented that if there was no bleeding in the previous tests than the opposite might have been the problem...a blockage of blood and oxygen to an area of the brain. Though the Thrombophilia is more directed towards the DVT's and PE's he saw my point of view as a possible blocking mechanism - keeping blood from an area of the brain. I mentioned the MRI did not show a clot. I explained my position as a maintenance guy so he knew where I was coming from. (I work on broken things and he works on broken people).

He thought all this was good that we mentioned - we are all on the same team. The new staff is great.
He mentioned that blood could be blocked by something even as small as a spasm of a vein....when he said that Sherry mentioned the Prinzmetal (?) Angina and he agreed that that could possibly cause a blockage. This also was good in that the meds he was going to use for the migraine is not compatible with the Prinzmetal Angina. He is consulting with a friend/doctor in Petoskey who is a neurologist for further info and input.

We are waiting for him to return with more information. These staff people (doctors, nurses, PAs, etc.) are nothing like those who almost killed me or tossed your Mom in a sanitarium. These are good people, and may God direct their feet, hands, fingers, minds and talents to where the answer is.

So this is the latest update.

My personal thought at this moment is the Angina blocked oxygen to the brain causing the original stroke symptoms. Will have to wait and see more. Thanks for your prayers everyone.

Blessings to you all
Pete
