lead bulletts sounding like iron, how do I tell the difference

I need a little coaching on this. I have found about 16 CW bullets over the last week and have noticed they were mostly in the fe 28-35 range and would dig them if they bounced up to the mid to upper 20s but would be getting some iron falsing causing me to dig a large amount of rusty wire and nails. I have been using all metal and running as high as I can with a stable sound in manual sens. also use multi tone and fe sounds. I run auto +3 when it gets too noisy. I'm not complaining about the bullets though, glad to dig them, just want to dig less iron. The ground has been really dry lately and most bullets are at about 6-8 inches. Any comments welcomed. Ask questions if you need more information. Thanks
