Learned my lesson

Hunted an olds, abandoned school Tuesday that I had found some time ago. After getting a few wheat cents I got a 4" 44 signal on my 305. Normally I do not dig shallow 44 signals because they tend to be large iron or a bottle cap. Decided to go after this one. Ended up pulling out my first Barber Half. 1903-O.
This gives me a trifecta of halves. Franklin, Walker and Barber in my life. Now I know that the 44 signal may not always be bad.

Congrats on the Barber half. I never pass up the 44 TID as that is where I've found my halves. I can usually tell deep iron by the harmonic tones. Bottle caps can be tough to determine. But the audio on rusty ones will usually break up if you raise the coil a few inches and sweep over it. Congrats on making the recovery and hitting the trifecta. HH Randy
