Learning curve for v3i

Hey all,

I've been detecting for several years now and have my sights on the v3i. I generally hit the parks but occasionally get in the bushes for relics. I think it would fit my needs but my question is how tough is it to learn? No experience with Whites but from the vids I've seen it looks pretty straight forward.

I don't know what you have been using to detect with, but you can use the V3i as a turn on and go or get into it deep. It is the most flexible detector there is. Many people never use all its features, it is up to you. I think its menu is excellent and sensible.

Shoot i am learning to use one so anyone can. Must admitt i had a lapse and tried to sell it up until today. Not because it is a hard detector to learn but i also have a CTX that i am new to also and i was/am having a hard time learning them both. I really bought the V3I and the 4x6 coil just to use in really trashy sites.

Any way i put it back together today and worked with it somemore and took it off the market. In my mild soil it will hit a dime at 6" with the 4x6 coil and i can lay a dime on the surface and put three rusty nails around it (one that is bent) and it will hit the dime from any direction. That is running a wide open or a heavy disc. screen.

I plan to work with it slowly untill i get my CTX figured out also.

I am also trying to learn both the V3i and E-Trac but i said i will get to them after i really basiclly learn what the basic things are 1st. Meaning what settings do .

Thanks for all the replies! You guys are too modest :) But you are also encouraging me to bite the bullet and do it.

Bud....your approach is what it is all about at each step for us all as you realize how far you've come in chunks......and THAT is a treasure in and of itself.
