hello again, got a brake in between,a poey nappy, and mickey mouse.i go by noise, dont think ive looked at the screen since 2 month's after i bought it.my first experience with the se was in an old caravan club field.found nothing but tin can's,and the machine would go to the south box then north on both then side to side, various reading's,and yet on the hill the otherside i found nothing but canadian 36 blastcap's.never really used the digital box, find it just gave false reading's,item on a slant or two deep.tried all the option's,and stick with what i know.iron mask is ok if your in a clutted area.smartfind is ok,anything that tinkers on the edge ,{i'll think i'll dig option}looks like a mans face, stay out of the black and into the red{white},nothing in this game for 2 in the bed.and then there's recovery,DEEP if your doing a small area, slow, slow pace.FAST,if your doing big open land.if you find a good coin like you have,go back, put the machine on deep, walk very, very slowlyzig zag,go in circle's whatever, but dont go fast on your feet,or the machine will have to do too much work on the wrong setting.set the tone you wanted to your own liking, like the response for retreiveing that target.if you go under a pylon and it cackle's like made,go into noise and look for another channel.this will smooth out hopefully, unless there a storm, then move from under the pylon, found a 1719 portugese 1000 gold reis under a pylon, had the same trouble.id check on that one,THAMES&FIELDuk 2 website.open day 1st 2nd aug british museum LONDON.can put your own pattern's on the smartfind and edit them, but remember that the machine then is only looking for what youask it too,it may miss certain finds then.hope to have been a help and not an hinderance.j

Sounds like you are getting to along nicely. The Explorers are pretty forgiving macines that most people really like once they get the hang of them. Everyone seems to find their own style of hunting with them. I suspect we have a way more trash to deal with than eppillus realizes in our parks and place you may start hunting. The Fast works well but doesnt give a very reliable reading. It starts picking up targets close but not under the coil and giveing combined readings. Ive found both DEEP and FAST off in those areas tends to work a little better.... but you have to kind of push your coil instead of taking it for a walk. The SE recovers pretty darn good when swung properly for the conditions. If you get too much null open up your disc a bit and dont be afraid to use Semi sensitivity.... The target noise may be carzy... but if thats bad recovery i dont want to listen to a machine with any more. Once you learn the machine you will feel more confortable switching settings to best suit the area you are hunting. Good luck and nice coin...
