Lightweight Explorer XS(modded)

Used 4 different detector manufacturers parts and #5 for the armrest cover and #6 for the protective face covering...Swung it yesterday for 3 hours ...no sore arm or back and worked like a charm at a local park, however only clad was found..

Originally modded by Keith Southern but added 1266 battery box and had to put two rods together to get the front long enough and also the back armrest area longer for better ergonomics.
Where rod were joined is coverered by the handgrip....

Nice job, Dan! I think we all wish that these machines would be a little more ergonomic and easier on the shoulders/joints.

Thanks for sharing!!

Wow that's very cool. I think you should paint it all black though with some vinyl car paint and see how it finishes up. Looks very professional as it is, did you weigh it? Also how do you bend your tubes...must use a pipe bender eh? The battery holder is the best modification of that area I have seen and it looks like a whites arm cuff and strap which I like much better than the plastic difficult to adjust Minelab strap. Great job and fun to see some ingenuity for that.

Nice setup bud.
