Dug this at or adjacent to an 1850's fort. I was thinking could it be an old powder can cap? Snuff? It looks to be made of lead and looks like flames swirling around LILY. Yup, kissed it with the shovel.:rage:

It looks like a cap to an old ointment tube.
 
The bottom has a shoulder about the size of an ointment tube. I'll get a picture up of the back side as soon as i get back.
