Here's last Sunday's paper showing the city and all the dots are mountain lion sightings - over 100 this last year it says. This is a city of about 1 million pop. The mountains are on the top right hand section - hence most of the sites. Steve in so az

bears have been sighted in MO in the last few years! Wouldn't want to meet one of them either!

They taste like chicken! Be carful buddy! :look:

people to track them with dogs? They banned that, here in Oregon a couple of years ago. The populations skyrocketed right after that.

Last fall, after my last gold panning trip, I was heading home and passed a store out in the sticks. There were a bunch of older teens standing around, looking at something in the back of the pickup. It was pretty big, and since it was fall, and deer season, I first thought it was a deer. When I got closer to where they were all standing, I realized that the head was round, and that it was a cougar. I couldnt believe it! It was enormous!!! I was glad I didnt have that thing jump on my back as I was bent over my pan!

Dont know if they still do - was really big at one time. To see a real cat sure is impressive - the paws are like a catcher's mitt :) Steve
